Miami

Miami

Miami, located on Biscayne Bay in southeastern Florida, is the state’s second largest city and has become a hip urban center with a multicultural ambience and a strong economy based on banking, tourism and other industries as diverse as its population. Top companies, including Burger King, Norwegian Cruise Line, Ryder and Wells Fargo have a major corporate presence here as do major medical, education, and technology interests. [1]

Speaking of the arts and culture, Miami is home to the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), a modern and contemporary art museum dedicated to collecting and exhibiting international art of the 20th and 21st centuries. [2] The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County is a cultural magnet offering great performances to entertainment-hungry audiences of all ages and backgrounds. [3] A new Museum of Science, designed by internationally acclaimed architects, will be opening soon adjacent to the PAMM.

Miami’s American Airlines Arena is an international, versatile venue in a vibrant waterfront setting that showcases world class and sophisticated events. Located in Downtown Miami on the Biscayne Bay waterfront, the Arena is positioned between the City’s skyline, beautiful beaches and the nightlife of South Beach. The Arena is also the home of the champion Miami Heat basketball team. [4] The Miami Marlins Park, a 37,000 seat Major League Baseball facility, includes a retractable roof to shield spectators from the sun and rain, inherently altering the perception of summer time baseball in South Florida. Miami Beach

Miami Beach

“Think Miami Beach, and you might imagine bronzed, beautiful people lounging on sugar-sand beaches or dancing the night away in ultra-chic nightclubs. And, while it is all that—especially in the trendy South Beach area—travel to Miami Beach can yield a few surprises, too. Miami Beach has evolved into a modern mecca of the fashion and modeling industries as well as a still-thriving center of international culture, public art and live music. Opulent hotels and award-winning restaurants and clubs abound, and the party scene is often around the clock. Whether the beach is your scene, or you’d rather hang back at a shore-side restaurant or rooftop, you’ll find Miami Beach has something to offer everyone.” [1]

“The Miami Beach Convention Center has been the heart of Miami Beach since opening in 1957. For more than fifty years, it has been the home of countless historic and important events. From 2016-2018, the Miami Beach Convention Center will again undergo a major renovation and will remain in business throughout the process.” [2]"Designs for the renovated center include a wavy white facade adorning the exterior of the 1.4 million square-foot building, 505,000 square feet of exhibition space inside, 10 additional meeting rooms and about 870 on-site parking spaces.” [3]

“Just a few blocks from the beach and world-famous Ocean Drive is Lincoln Road Mall — South Florida’s premier outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment destination. This mile long, pedestrian-only promenade boasts a happening street scene with throngs of local and out-of-town visitors, excellent shopping, and terrific dining options.” [4]
